Birds Nest
Known affectionately as the “Birds Nest,” this Paradise Valley home is perched high in the mountains, offering dramatic views and a remarkable expression of hillside construction. Designed by Candelaria Design with interiors by IMI Design and landscape architecture by Greey Pickett, the residence was built on an exceptionally steep and complex site. To stabilize the mountain, deep rock bolts were drilled into the hillside before construction could begin. The design follows the natural contours of the land, with multiple levels integrated seamlessly into the terrain. The owner’s garage is located underground, with guest parking and arrival above. The main level features the primary living spaces, master suite, and office, while the lower level includes a casual family room, large wine room, exercise space, and guest suites. Every detail reflects precision engineering and thoughtful design in harmony with its rugged surroundings.
